Moving insurance is provided to ensure your relocation is smooth and damage-free. And if the damage occurs by chance, the moving company should compensate it since you have taken the insurance policy. But a few things cannot be ensured during the packing and moving process. And even big moving companies don’t provide insurance coverage for the same because of the multiple risks associated with these items.
Professional packers and movers will not insure items such as cash, jewelry, awards and medals, documents, medicines, fine art, heirlooms, ceramics, pottery, antiques, and perishable items. But you can and must always confirm with your moving company about the items that can be insured and those that cannot. Doing so will give you clarity and ensure that you are paying only for those items that come underinsured category and not paying for the ones that don’t.
